About the BoardDavid Fritz - Presidentdfritz@altonschools.org I am a lifelong resident of the Alton/Godfrey area. I was raised in Upper Alton and attended Alton Schools, including Horace Mann, Dunbar, Lowell, and East Jr. High. I graduated from Alton Sr. High School. After graduating from Illinois State University with a B.S. Degree in Finance, I returned home to work at Alton Banking & Trust Company, better known as Wedge Bank. I worked as a Teller and Facility Manger and eventually became a Vice President and Assistant Cashier of the Accounting Department. After Wedge Bank was sold to Mercantile Bank, I continued to work in their Accounting and Comptroller’s Departments. In 1998, I left Mercantile Bank to continue my career with Piasa Motor Fuels, LLC in Hartford, IL. I continue there today as their Sr. Accountant and Office Manager. On the home front, I am happily married to Paula (a 4th Grade Educator at West Elementary in Alton) and together we have two wonderful children – Taylor who graduated from AHS in 2012 and received her BS Degree in American Sign Language Interpreting (Summa Cum Laude) from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL in 2016, and Matthew who graduated from AHS in 2016 and is now attending Illinois State University in Normal, IL where he is studying Accounting. In this position, I create programs to provide enjoyment and the building of character for both the youth and seniors. I go into housing developments and implement these programs. My daughter, Anna Rose, is entering her last year of Nursing School and my two sons, Ihzel and Ryshaun are students in our school district. I am very involved in our community by being part of many organizations. Alton is my home and Alton School District is where I received my education. With the influence of great teachers who inspired me to reach my goals, I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Leadership and a Masters Degree in Human Resources. I have earned some Doctorate courses toward Education through the University of Phoenix. The sky is the limit!
