Week 2 Complete! | Curriculum Highlights, Safety Week & Upcoming Events

We have officially wrapped up our second week of school! The entire team is so happy to be back. Now that our first two weeks are complete, our students have settled into the rules and routines that help them know what to expect at West for a successful year ahead.
Academic Focus: Jumpstarting Learning
We are diving straight into challenging lessons right away! Please check in with your child regularly to see if they need any extra support with their coursework.
Writing is a major focus across all subjects this year. You can support your student at home by:
- Asking them periodically what topics they are writing about.
- Asking to look through their writing journal if their class is keeping one.
To ensure our campus remains a secure environment, we will be conducting several practice drills throughout next week, including:
- Bus evacuation drills
- Fire drills
- Intruder drills
We are excited to celebrate our students' hard work with a trip to the park at the end of the quarter!
- Qualifications: To attend, students must have zero behavioral referrals, all schoolwork turned in, and consistently meet our RRSK expectations.
- Permission Slips: Slips will be sent home early next week and are due back by Friday, September 4th.
- Please note: Returning a signed permission slip does not automatically guarantee attendance; students must maintain their eligibility through October 23rd.
